ز آموزش زبان تا تجربه زبان این کتاب رویکردی عملی و تجربه‌محور به آموزش زبان انگلیسی ارائه می‌دهد و به معلمان کمک می‌کند کلاس‌هایی پویا، تعاملی، خلاق و مؤثر طراحی کنند. در این اثر، روش‌هایی مانند یادگیری تجربه‌محور، شناخت بدنمند، بازی، داستان، هنر و پاسخ فیزیکی کامل (TPR) در کنار یکدیگر قرار گرفته‌اند تا زبان‌آموز به جای حفظ کردن صرفِ قواعد و واژگان، زبان را از طریق حرکت، تعامل، تجربه و موقعیت‌های معنادار یاد بگیرد. یکی از بخش‌های مهم کتاب، به معلمان می‌آموزد چگونه مانند یک پژوهشگر کلاس فعالیت‌های خود را مشاهده، تحلیل و اصلاح کنند تا بتوانند بر اساس واکنش و نیاز زبان‌آموزان، فرایند یادگیری را بهبود دهند. این کتاب برای معلمان زبان انگلیسی، دانشجویان آموزش زبان، مربیان کودکان و نوجوانان و مدیران مراکز آموزشی نوشته شده است و تلاش می‌کند میان نظریه‌های علمی و واقعیت‌های کلاس درس پلی عملی ایجاد کند. زبان زمانی به‌طور واقعی آموخته می‌شود که زندگی شود، نه زمانی که تنها حفظ شود.
